Eric Wiebes, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate, recently announced that an extra SDE+ subsidy round will be opened in the spring of 2020. Wiebes wants to make between €1,5 billion and €2 billion available for this round.
The extra subsidy round is part of a series of measures to achieve the climate goals. "A number of projects that are in principle ready to apply for an SDE+ subsidy will not be able to submit a successful application in the autumn 2019 round due to the lack of the required permit(s) as a result of the PAS decision and/or a negative transport indication. of the network operator," said Wiebes.
Extra spring round in 2020
Part of the available budget was not used in the spring rounds of 2019. €1,1 billion of the budget remained. There is a chance that budget was also unused in the last autumn round. The unused budget from these rounds will be used for this extra subsidy round in the spring of 2020. The round will be opened at the end of March 2020.
The final budget will be determined later by the minister, partly on the basis of the course of the autumn round. This also applies to the basic amounts of the subsidy, because they will be adjusted to the most current insights for spring 2020. Otherwise, this extra SDE+ subsidy round will be identical (in structure) to the autumn round of 2019.
SDE+ subsidy
The SDE+ subsidy is one of the most important subsidies for solar panels at the moment. It enables a company to earn 3 times money with solar panels: an entrepreneur saves on his own electricity bill, receives a subsidy per kWh of solar energy generated and can sell the generated electricity that is not used to the energy supplier.
An obtained SDE+ subsidy is valid for a period of 15 years. A roof area of at least 100 m . is required2 necessary. A limited budget is always available for the subsidy. So, first come, first served. It is therefore advisable not to wait too long with the application if you are interested.
