Emergency nitrogen act may be delayed

6 December 2019 - Jorine Cosse - 10 comments

The emergency nitrogen law may be shelved. The Senate today issued a statement that more time is needed to look at the emergency nitrogen law. According to sources, it is mainly the senators of the opposition who are stepping on the brakes.

The emergency law was passed yesterday by the House of Representatives, thanks in part to the support of the SGP, 50PLUS and the independent member of parliament Van Haga, who helped the coalition achieve a majority. Next week would be the Senate hearing, which was expected to vote on it the following week (December 17). There seems to be a hitch now.

While the cabinet is insisting on a swift settlement, in order to give housing, road and hydraulic engineering a boost, the Senate has indicated that it wants more time to reach a decision. This ruling would mean that the adoption of this law cannot be completed on January 1, 2020. Next Tuesday, December 10, it will be decided whether the treatment will be extended beyond the Christmas recess or not.

Opposition wants to wait
It is mainly the opposition parties that throw a spanner in the works. They find the law too complicated to make a decision within 2 weeks. In addition, the left-wing opposition in particular also believes that too few structural measures are being taken to reduce nitrogen emissions and repair damage to nature. They therefore want to wait for other nitrogen plans from the cabinet.

Collaboration with PvdA
The fact that opposition parties GroenLinks and the PvdA voted against in the House of Representatives could also be unfavorable for the decision that the Senate will take. Since May this year, the coalition has lost its majority in the Senate. The greatest chance of reaching an agreement lies with the cooperation with one of the two parties. Hopes are pinned on the PvdA, which may be open to discussing possible support. This in exchange for agreements on more homes for the lower incomes.

This is in response to it Boerenbusiness article:

Mansholt, the PvdA member, has laid the foundation for the nitrogen problem. And now it is the PvdA again, which is not tackling the nitrogen problem energetically. The next generation of farmers is the loser..

Dieuwke you deserve a nudge because if you can cram so much nonsense into 1 sentence, I will give you the golden ladle so that you can always stir in the nonsense soup.

As long as there is a Zwarte Piet discussion, our cats are not allowed to run outside, we are not allowed to be in traffic jams and unfeasible standards are implemented with simple ruses like:

You are not the problem, but part of the solution.

As long as I listen to Farmer Dieuwke, because we pay our social historian politicians for their decisions for the completely disappeared "us" in OUR COUNTRY! Not hindered by any knowledge of the facts or possibly culpable megalomania.

(psychological defect or not, beyond our current knowledge the possibly more interesting animal kingdom where the only form of infinite economic growth of labor currency is cancer).
until here and no further 8 December 2019
no, farmer's wife dwieuke, the citizens will be the victims in the short term, just because society as a whole will go to the brink because of this nonsense, but they will only understand when the time has come

Politics makes the play run very long, it is in their own interest to slow down and train as much as possible. Any sane person understands that the PAS, PFAS etc is a complete fabrication that is also nicely exaggerated with extremely low standards and declarations of environmental disasters. Now that the population is stirring each other up for a while and the chaos is complete, big business is running away with the loot like a thief in the night.
The spoils are a financial crisis that now only needs to be triggered, with which much of the property of the now poor borrowed people is sold at rock-bottom prices to wealthy 'buyers' with global tentacles in the financial system.

Green deal? Who is it good for?
The EU will produce less and print even more money, more taxes for the common man and more burdens for small businesses.
Actually an endless series of measures without financial support, perhaps becoming a forest ranger.

forester? Why not politics in Kjol!

Rutte is the least bad, sick man for everyone.
Brain-dead grin, expression of cultural Grim Reaper.
