'CBL bases summons on fake news'

16 December 2019 - Anne Jan Doorn - 12 comments

According to Farmers Defense Force (FDF), the trade association for supermarkets (CBL) has incorrectly assumed that distribution centers will be blocked on Wednesday 18 December. According to the lawyer of the action group, the CBL bases itself on fake news.

The CBL is demanding a general ban on the blockade of distribution centers and a penalty payment from the court. "If Farmers Defense Force violates the general ban, a penalty of €5 million must be imposed," said the trade association's lawyer. According to the CBL, there is no problem between the action group and the supermarkets, which means that any damage is unjustified.

Farmers Defense Forse defended itself by stating that the CBL's claim is based on fake news. The lawyer assures on behalf of the group that no violations of the law will take place. "The private areas of supermarkets will not be entered," said the lawyer. FDF has only announced that 'dynamic actions' will follow.

Not providing clarity
When asked by the judge whether obstruction of the distribution centers is part of the actions, FDF indicated that there will be no blockades. According to Farmers Defense Force, the CBL's claim is therefore not justified, because it is not based on a real threat. The judge, on the other hand, stated that she can imagine that the CBL feels threatened.

In addition, the judge is of the opinion that the purpose of the actions must be made clear. "We did that through a covenant," the action group claims. It demands that there must be a 'fair trade concept' for farmers. In addition, it wants an independent calculation system to be introduced, so that farmers are guaranteed to earn their cost price.

Make margins public
Farmers Defense Force also wants supermarkets to make their margins public and that products from the Netherlands should be given preference in the Dutch supermarket. Finally, they demand that the payment term of supermarkets be shorter than 90 days. The action group therefore states that the actions are aimed at the supermarkets. "The nitrogen crisis has made the situation for farmers more dire, but the CBL is also partly responsible for the problems."

The judge will give a written ruling on the case between the CBL and Farmers Defense Force on Tuesday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m.

cbl wants to silence the farmers beforehand.
and with all the capital behind it, she will certainly succeed.
Just watch who's going to get it right.

CBL apparently wanted to show how hard FDF is by bringing in the door of Groningen, wasn't that an action by LTO?

Chained together under, that is not the intention!!!!!!!!!!

What hypocritical talk from the FDF. A few days ago in response to the call not to block distribution centers:

FDF says in a press release that it will continue with the actions. "The supermarket giants, who have been parasitizing farmers for years, their incomes and their efforts, want to silence us again." †

In doing so, they explicitly kept the option open to block distribution centers. Then you can't suddenly start calling hypocritically that it is fake news. They actually put it into circulation themselves.

Truly a bunch of idiots that only harm the farm.

Apparently Bleu was not present in Lelystad. FDF came out well and the covenant that was presented was nicely picked up by the judge and put the CBL in a difficult position
Arnaud 16 December 2019
Bleu apparently does not understand that all this attention is focused on questioning the big fat margins that the supermarket chains earn on the farmers' backs.
good thing!

I don't think lto and FDF had anything together then (as the agricultural collective)?
Blue 16 December 2019
Blue understands perfectly that the FDF has (just in time) realized that they were cutting themselves enormously with their half-baked actions and statements. Blue also understands that they want to talk their way out.

And Blue also understands that no one will believe you if you label the self-published image as 'fake news'.

Bleu asked for a green bike in his younger years, he got a blue one, he never got over that trauma
Burger feels cheated 16 December 2019
I think bleu is like his pickpocket tarnished in his honor,
The farmers now have to carry on, the citizen is also caught by the CBL, and they try to shift that onto the farmers.
If the CBL had taken good care of the farmers, all those worries would not have been necessary.

@schoenmakers 1: Actually it was a red bicycle

@Burger feels cheated: If you had read my other posts on this forum you would know that I think the farmers' protests are completely justified. I am only vehemently against the idiocy of the FDF that only harms the farmer's business by antagonizing the rest of the Netherlands against us.
