Farmers Defense Force (FDF) is furious that the details of the nitrogen deal with the cabinet have been leaked on the website of Nieuwe Oogst, the member publication of LTO Nederland. According to the farmers' movement - just like LTO a member of the Agricultural Collective - this information is incomplete and not up to date. Moreover, there is no definitive agreement.
At the beginning of the evening, during the discussion of the Emergency Nitrogen Act in the Senate, Minister Carola Schouten announced that an agreement had been concluded with the Agricultural Collective. Shortly afterwards, Nieuwe Oogst published an article with the details of the plan, but according to FDF the content of this is partly incorrect.
According to the organization, there is only an agreement in principle, which will most likely be published tomorrow morning. "A number of very important matters for FDF have not yet been negotiated," the FDF board said in a statement. Agreements had been made within the Agricultural Collective about how the information will be communicated. "The fact that the agreements have been violated is a serious disappointment for FDF," the organization reports pityingly.
Actions necessary
FDF says it is necessary to keep the pressure on the cabinet to get the desired agreement on the table. Initially, a large farmers' protest was organized tomorrow, but that has been banned by the judge. Separate action groups may take to the streets with tractors, with support from the construction sector. Also tonight there were unexpected farmer protests at the Binnenhof in The Hague.
