The 49-year-old Dutchman Villaume Kal will become the new CEO of the pig genetics company Topigs Norsvin from mid-March. The new CEO will then form the management board together with Cor van Hertrooij (CFO) and Hans Olijslagers (CTO).
With the new CEO, Topigs Norvin says he is bringing in an experienced hand. Previously, Kal was CEO of NIZO Food Research and Rousselot (a producer of gelatin for pharmaceutical and food applications). He has also held various management positions at DSM.
Topigs Norsvin attaches great importance to Kal's knowledge of the Chinese and North American market. These are important markets for the supplier of pig genetics. Kal's task is to further expand the activities in these regions.
Kal succeeds Martijn Bijl, who left Topigs Norsvin last year to join the Board of Directors of grass seed producer Barenburg Groep. The search for a new CEO took quite a while. Topigs Norsvin had been looking for a new CEO since May.
