Protocol for cleaning storage sheds from CIPC

9 April 2020 - Jeannet Pennings - 6 comments

A European protocol has been drawn up for cleaning storage sheds where chlorpropham (CIPC) was once used. The manual should allow growers to keep CIPC residues to a minimum.

The manual is based on knowledge from research in France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. European organizations from the potato chain, including COPA-COGECA, EUPPA and Europatat, have bundled this knowledge. In the Netherlands, the Branche organization (BO) Akkerbouw ensures the dissemination of knowledge on behalf of the Taskforce Germ Inhibition.

Prevent cross-contamination
Since January 1, 2020, a prohibition on CIPC in the European Union. The use-by date for, among other things, the storage of potatoes has been set at October 8, 2020. One of the challenges now is to prevent cross-contamination of ware potatoes that are stored from harvest 2020 in barns where CIPC has been used in the past.

Growers should clean all these storage sheds before storing the new potatoes. How this can best be done is described step-by-step in the 'Cleaning Manual Chlorpropham'† Furthermore, a infographic, checklist en inspection guideline readily available.

A completely blown idiocy, Handelshuizen are happy with it, great chance of rejection if the corona strikes again.

Butter with the fish !!! Grower gets No extra cost reimbursement c ipc . Use much more expensive other means that are not effective, all increase costs. This is not going to work out, see the potato price ... this simply no longer appeals to an entrepreneur. The government is letting the grower crack hard 'this is the Netherlands in 2020....

CIPC, drastically reduces a man's sperm count and erection. Now it makes sense that the number of children on the farm is so low and the number of farmers decreases dramatically.

According to your reasoning should therefore only apply to most arable farmers, certainly not to livestock farmers, so you are talking nonsense from your neck
