About six months ago, a new agricultural platform went live. This platform called FarmTrade was founded after an idea of ​​young people from the agricultural world. FarmTrade is currently going like a rocket, the 2000th company is expected next month. Initiator Bart Keizers emphasizes the ambition: "We want to become the Apple of the agricultural world."

FarmTrade was set up with the aim of connecting the agricultural world in the field of trade. In addition, at FarmTrade they have done everything they can to become an inspiring agricultural initiative.

Keizers: "In the agricultural world, a lot is quickly the same. Almost everything is aimed at increasing the yield from 40 to 40,5 tons per hectare. I do not believe that the profit is the only place there. look the other way. We want to give you the network to look around the world."

The FarmTrade team wanted to do things differently. "We tried to make our App really cool, we think that is just as important as how it works. Green, for example, is a typical agricultural color, but we didn't like it. But if you put green on a black background, it suddenly looks very cool We also hope to inspire other companies with our design, you can already see it happening at Spotify, for example," says Keizers with a smile.  

FarmTrade wants to show what it stands for through its design. That is, it can also be done differently. In addition, a starting point was to feel the DNA of the agricultural world throughout the App. 

Keizers gives an example: "On FarmTrade you cannot email to trade. If something is offered, call or app you immediately. Emailing all day long, that does not suit our sector. In every part of the App you can feel the farm- to be."

FarmTrade is located in the building where Marktplaats grew up. Yet Keizers does not want to be compared with Marktplaats. Keizers: "On Marktplaats, negotiations take place with tens, on FarmTrade it can be thousands of euros. We really only want good companies with good products on our platform.
