Publishing for some time Boerenbusiness the organic DCA indication prices, which are compiled by DCA-Markets. DCA-Markets has been specially established to draw up and publish independent reference prices. It does this for a large number of different markets such as dairy, meat, arable farming and feed.

Recently DCA-Markets has partnered with Boerenbusiness started drawing up prices for the market for organic table potatoes, organic onions and organic carrots. These are so-called indicator prices, which means that weekly contact is sought with a group of insiders who share their view of the market and the price development. Based on this, a price range is determined between which insiders see the market trade, so-called 'from-to prices'. This is published every Wednesday together with the collected market commentary by Boerenbusiness under the label BBBio.

When interpreting this information, it is important to know which product one is talking about, which conditions and which specifications. They follow below:

Organic Carrot

• B carrot / dish nipple Class I.
• 50-250 grams
• Payout weight for carrots with head thickness 22 mm to 40 mm.
• Based on ± 500 kg from a box.

Organic Onion

• Class II worthy of organic planting, seed onions.
• Maximum tare 25% (incl. onions of < 40 mm).
• List onions in two groups being:
  • Fine grading: > 30% - < 60% coarse
  • Coarse grading > 60% coarse

Coarse is defined here as greater than 60 millimeters

Organic table potatoes

• Flour mm 35-65
• Steady mm 35-65

Applies to all of the above products

• From-to prices euro per 100 kg excl. VAT
• Indication prices for the current week up to and including Wednesday
• Finished a Dutch farm or Dutch cold store within 3 weeks
• field crop
