After a successful crowdfunding campaign, Vegan Fresco was able to open the doors of its first location in Amsterdam on 8 February. This makes the Netherlands one more concept richer: a supermarket with a completely vegan and plant-based range.
More than 200 investors contributed to the opening of the first Vegan Fresco branch: a supermarket with a completely vegan & plant-based offer. This means that the target of €150.000 was easily achieved and a webshop can even be started. Founder James Fresco: "It's not my goal to talk everyone into a vegan lifestyle, but with an eye on the future of our planet, I think it's important that it becomes easier to find alternatives."
Sustainability at the top
Since attention is paid to the planet, the physical store has also been designed as sustainably as possible. You can think of an extra heat-insulating layer on the ceiling, electric heating and LED lighting. No plastic bags are issued and the building is supplied with green electricity. "In addition, our goal is to offer a product range from products and manufacturers that take environmentally efficient production, packaging and logistics into account."
