American believes that meat should be part of a healthy diet

1 April 2021 - Kimberly Bakker - 6 comments

About 75% of Americans believe that meat belongs in a healthy, balanced diet. That's according to a new study. In addition, 94% indicate that they buy meat because of the high-quality proteins. The positive feeling towards meat is also reflected in the purchase figures. Americans bought 20% more meat products last year.

A new survey shows that 3 out of 4 Americans believe that meat should be part of a healthy and balanced diet. This percentage has increased by more than 2010% since 20. In addition, 94% of American respondents indicate that they buy meat because of its high-quality proteins. This positive feeling towards meat is reflected in last year's purchase figures. Americans bought an average of 20% more products containing beef, pork, poultry and/or lamb.

Nearly all American households, about 98,4%, will have bought meat at some point in 2020. And 43% of consumers in the United States indicate that they buy more meat now than before the corona crisis. This is mainly because meals have to be prepared at home. The share of home-cooked meals peaked at 89% in April last year and still stood at 84% in December. That is a significant increase compared to the pre-corona era.

Online grocery shopping
Just like in the Netherlands, online grocery shopping is also 'hot & happening' in the United States. The increase over the whole of 2020 will amount to no less than 40%. The majority of Americans who have shopped online (59%) also expect that they will continue to do so after the crisis.

Americans are also embracing new cooking methods. For example, the ownership of an airfryer in the United States has increased by 24%. Digital sources for inspiration were also widely consulted. For example, the research shows that searches for recipes on YouTube have increased by 50%.

In Brussels they want omnivores; that encompasses humanity, making herbivores. Looks like it's not that easy after all. Timmermans, who calls that very often, seems not to heed his own roar given his stature. He would like to see the rest of the foot soldiers on their knees eating grass in the pasture within a short period of time. How crazy must you be!!!!!

well said, Ivo. just an addition; Indonesia seems to have the highest corona infection rate and it is also an Islamic country. So according to calculation modules that have sometimes been made by certain smart people, I would conclude that by consuming too little (or even nothing) pork consumption, you are more susceptible to certain diseases (or in other words; lowering resistance).

What a mess in the second room, but one thing is certain: CU is no longer participating, so we are also rid of Schouten. But now? Rutte had better leave before the VVD goes to the ....... is.

With such politicians and a crazy anti-farming population .... what are you still doing here as a farmer?
