The list of companies that will stop purchasing meat from Gosschalk Slaughterhouse is growing. After McDonald's, several supermarkets have also stopped purchasing meat from the slaughterhouse.

McDonald's closed immediately with the purchase of meat, after the images were released and the slaughterhouse has now lost several customers. Supermarket chains Albert Heijn, Boni and Jumbo have also stopped purchasing meat from Gosschalk.

McDonald's has broken ties with Gosschalk definition and will now source the meat from Vion and Ameco, according to the report. AD. It is not disclosed where the supermarket chains will get their meat from now on. Albert Heijn has reported that it will no longer purchase meat from Gosschalk in the future, if the doors reopen. Jumbo and Boni have not disclosed anything about this.

AH's reaction is just show for De Buhne and has nothing to do with animal welfare. They do get beef from Argentina. There is no supervision at all at the slaughterhouses, which makes the meat cheaper and, moreover, the cows there are still treated with growth hormones, which makes it even cheaper. With AH, only the margin they can make counts. If they really cared about the animals, they would employ supervisors themselves to check whether their suppliers meet their conditions and they would have already addressed Godschalk about it themselves.
