9.400 farmers request an advance on CAP

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) started last week with the payment of advances on the basic and greening payments from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). More than 9.400 entrepreneurs make use of this scheme.

Until June 30, the first period was open to submit a request for an advance on payment entitlements. These applications will be assessed and paid out in July. A second period will be opened from 4 to 24 August, the RVO announced today (Monday 26 July). Farmers who sign up for this will receive an advance in September. From December, the RVO will take the final decision on the subsidies and the advances will be settled with final payments.

Additional conditions
The advance is €300 per hectare of eligible agricultural land where the entrepreneur has a payment right. There are a number of conditions for eligibility. In addition to the usual conditions for payment (having subsidisable land and payment entitlements and application in the Combined Statement), the entrepreneur must be entitled to an advance payment of at least €400 and may not pay more than €2 in the past 20.000 years. - have received minimal aid.
