CropX, the Israeli world leader in agricultural data analysis, is acquiring Dutch industry partner Dacom Farm Intelligence. The 2 companies announced this today (Tuesday, August 10).
The digitalization of agriculture has exploded and the market has become saturated, the companies write in the joint statement. As the market matures, many companies will lose weight and the sector will be consolidated.
The acquisition of Dacom will enable CropX to offer a comprehensive farm management platform with active irrigation technology, fertilizer management and crop protection functions. In addition, the globally operating company is strengthening its position in the European market.
Accelerate growth
“This is our third acquisition since early 2020 as we continue to execute on our vision to bring the most comprehensive farm management platform to growers worldwide,” said Tomer Tzach, CEO of CropX. With the acquisition, CropX, founded in 2015, adds crop protection consultancy services and registration to its product mix. “We expect to accelerate our global growth exponentially as we integrate our teams and technology,” said Tzach.
“I am very excited to be a part of the fast-growing CropX business,” said Janneke Hadders, CEO of Dacom. “Our farmers will benefit from the integrated solutions and insights from data analytics and a customer base from around the world.”
European office
With the acquisition, CropX will establish the European office in Dacom's current headquarters in the Netherlands. The size of the global team doubled. Dacom's 3.000 customers - from smaller growers to major market players - are added to CropX's portfolio of more than 20.000 farms in 40 countries. With the deal, CropX will also get a wider reach in regions with a temperate climate. Dacom employees will transfer to CropX with immediate effect.
