Bel Leerdammer joins row of price increases
With a milk price increase for September, cheese maker Bel Leerdammer is in line with the majority of processors and the prevailing market sentiment.

The company increases the fat price by 5 cents to €3,15 and the protein price by 10 cents to €7,20 per kilo. According to the company, the total milk price for September is therefore € 39,26 per 100 kilos of milk (excluding VAT and after deduction of the contribution for ZuivelNL). This price applies to an annual supply of 1,1 million kg of milk and contents of 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein.
The price includes the grazing and VLOG allowance of € 2,00 and € 1,00 respectively per 100 kilos of milk that is paid monthly, the same as the standard milk payment. This also includes the market surcharge of € 0,25 per 100 kilos of milk. The milk price does not include the sustainability premium. This is paid out in March of each year and can amount to € 0,60 per 100 kilos of milk.

In terms of maximum milk price, Bel Leerdammer is just below the maximum milk price of FrieslandCampina (which then includes the Planet Proof surcharge). Bel will continue to pay a maximum milk price that exceeds that of DOC Kaas.
