Aldi Netherlands will gradually switch to the sale of 'On the way to PlanetProof' cheese. The first 450 gram pieces of cheese will be on the shelves from November.
FrieslandCampina is pleased with the new commercial acquisition. The dairy company sells cheese under the PlanetProof quality mark to a number of other large Dutch retail parties, but not all yet.
The transition from Aldi to On the way to PlanetProof cheese is an important and logical next step, the price fighter reports in a press release. The supermarket chain sees it as its responsibility 'to make responsible choices simple for customers'. Since 2019, more and more dairy products and almost all
potatoes, vegetables and fruit from the Netherlands certified according to the independent sustainability label On the way to PlanetProof. Cheese is added to this palette from November.
Also house brands and cottage cheese
More than 80% of the products that FrieslandCampina has on the fresh dairy shelves at supermarkets are On the Way to PlanetProof. This concerns the brands Campina, Optimel, Vifit, but also house brands of Superunie (Melkan and Zuivelmeester), Jumbo, Aldi and Lidl. This concerns fresh milk, buttermilk, yoghurt, custard and in some cases also cheese. Campina has also previously launched Botergoud under the PlanetProof quality mark. FrieslandCampina has also recently started producing quark under the quality mark. The milk for the PlanetProof product flow is supplied by 700 certified FrieslandCampina members.
