Carrots for which there is no buyer remain above the market. This has actually been the case since just after the switch to the new carrot. Harvesting has been postponed by several growers, while the kilos have grown in the meantime. That shouldn't be a problem if demand picks up. Only that remains to be seen. Africa is on the market, but not for large quantities and countries in Eastern Europe such as Poland and the Czech Republic have more than enough of their own carrots.

Organization
It is not surprising that the mood on the market is somewhat depressed, according to various traders. Around this time there is usually quite a lot of supply of farmed carrots. Given the beautiful young carrots on many plots, it seems that it will be a long land season, provided the frost does not set in early. Growers who want to deliver from land currently have a lot of work to do in finding a buyer. Investing by the grower in a good relationship with a (regular) buyer pays for itself in a year like this, according to one of the traders.

Step back
The prices of carrots are under some pressure. The DCA listing for B carrots amounts to €6,50 per 100 kilos. That is €0,50 lower than last week. Especially the top of the listing takes a step down, more than €7 is no longer paid. The DCA Quotation of C-peen stands at €6 per 100 kilos. The range runs from €5 to €7, but with the note that there is little trade.
