Of the almost 3.640 so-called PAS reporters, 10 can continue for the time being, because it has been determined that no further permits are required for them. Another 30 waiting for nitrogen space. The rest will have to wait for now.
Minister Carola Schouten makes this clear in her youngest progress report nitrogen problem. The data supplied in the meantime is still being checked for 2.406 reports. No data is yet available to the government for the other PAS reporters.
No time frame for handling PAS problems
In her letter, Schouten does not indicate whether there is also a time frame in which she believes that the PAS problem has been resolved. There are many legal complications. Together with the provinces, it opposes legal requests from environmental organizations to enforce enforcement of the PAS reporters. Overall, this is going well, she writes. Although the judge agrees with the environmental organizations in a few cases, the minister reports that she thinks she can overcome the consequences with a legalization program.
PAS reporters who have incurred costs for collecting the necessary data for such a report can from Monday 15 to 30 November make an appeal on a compensation scheme. €1.600 can be received per reporter.
North Brabant and Gelderland precursors
No further measures have been adopted regarding many other announced measures, such as buying out up to 800 so-called peak loaders in livestock farming. The implementation of this program is also largely in the hands of the provinces, with North Brabant and Gelderland being the forerunners.
New and in some areas more far-reaching measures must come from a new cabinet, says the minister. In a series of reports that she encloses with her letter to the House of Representatives, crosses are given for this. The pooling of now released studies is also seen as an attempt to create some peace on the nitrogen front. Too many parties made it a competition of chasing everyone again with individually leaked reports.
