Livestock farmers in North Brabant who are going to stop in the long term will not have to adapt their stables until 2028, if it is up to the provincial executive (GS). The livestock farmers who continue have until 2024 to adapt their stables so that they comply with the nitrogen regulations of the province.
This is apparent from the draft Environmental Regulation that the GS have confirmed. The document is now being presented to the Provincial Council for adoption. He is expected to vote on it in February 2022. The condition for the stoppers in the long term is that they will keep fewer animals between 2024 and 2028.
It was previously announced that nature-inclusive companies do not have to adapt their stables. These companies can also benefit from other incentives, such as cheap rent. Deputy Lemkes-Straver told this in an interview with Boerenbusiness† More space is also being offered to organic farms. They can grow into a building block of 2,5 hectares.
The draft environmental regulation also included a construction-demolition scheme. Expansion in the outlying area should be compensated with demolition elsewhere in the outlying area. This arrangement has been deleted. Only the stabling scheme for intensive livestock farming in Central and East Brabant will be maintained.
