Arla pumps millions into Saudi Arabia production

28 December 2021 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

The Scandinavian dairy cooperative Arla has scaled up production in Saudi Arabia and invested $17 million for this.

The new production lines - for Starbucks drinking milk and dairy-based cooking products - have been operational since September. Production is expected to be about 2022% higher in 10 than this year. Arla sees Saudi Arabia as an interesting growth market and also as a gateway to other countries in the Middle East.

Arla has been operational in the kingdom since the 80s. The value of the dairy market in Saudi Arabia was $5,72 billion in 2020 and is estimated to grow to $5 billion in the next 7,94 years.
