The growing number of customers in a shrinking agricultural market supports this belief. "Today, sound market information in combination with accessible market data is indispensable for the professional entrepreneur in his business operations," says Tim Vrolijk, general manager at DCA Multimedia. "We want to tailor our services as optimally as possible to this growing information need."
Launch of Foodbusiness.nl, the platform for market information
The corona pandemic has hit the sector hard, but had little impact on the development of DCA Multimedia in the past year. In fact, 2021 is the year in which DCA Multimedia has invested the most in projects. This includes the launch of foodbusiness.nl, the platform with which DCA Multimedia aims to provide the food sector with market information about raw materials. To this end, the editorial team was expanded last year with two market specialists.
Also is Boerenbusiness.nl completely restyled and rebuilt, including a customized mobile version. To respond to the growing need for digital information provision by companies to their customers, partly encouraged by the corona pandemic, DCA Multimedia has the studio extensively expanded and renovated. Many business relations have used this studio in the past year to inform their customers, relations or members via webinars, live streams or video presentations.
Planned projects such as the Crop Tour and Roughage Tour have been made a success thanks to the participating agricultural entrepreneurs and commercial partners. In the autumn of 2021, the Agribusiness Award, an initiative of Boerenbusiness, awarded to winner Lely with its nitrogen innovation Lely Sphere.
Agreements with well-known international news platforms
DCA Multimedia, in collaboration with sister company DCA-Markets, has also agreements concluded with the well-known international news platforms Refinitiv (Reuters) and Dow Jones for the purchase of price data. Within DCA-Markets, internationally highly valued quotations are developed for, among other things, dairy products, meat components and pigs, which are enriched by DCA MultiMedia with analyzes of the market.
DCA Multimedia also aims to further expand and strengthen its position in the agri-food chain in the field of market information and price data in 2022. This can be done both autonomously and in collaboration with partners. "In 2021 international prices for agricultural commodities have exploded", Tim says cheerfully. "Good market information can really make the difference for entrepreneurs between profit and loss. The commodities market remains volatile for the time being, so we are optimistic about the new year."
Extra attention is given to the volatile dairy market Boerenbusiness.nl and food commodities with the expansion of Foodbusiness.nl. "Foodbusiness is a startup with daily market information of the most important raw materials for the food industry. A unique platform for the Netherlands, which we will expand further in the coming years," concludes Vrolijk.
