Many Western companies are withdrawing from Russia in order to distance themselves from the war that the country is fighting in Ukraine. Livestock feed group De Heus, which has factories in both Russia and Ukraine, will remain active in both countries. The company speaks of a well-considered decision to stay.
The factory near the Ukrainian city of Lviv was still operational yesterday (March 7), the animal feed company said when asked. "The safety of our employees is paramount. At the same time, we want to make a contribution to prevent possible food shortages as much as possible. That is why the animals must continue to be fed and then animal feed production is crucial," said a spokesperson. De Heus has several hundred employees in Ukraine. "Most of them want to stay. From our locations in Poland and Slovakia, we shelter their wives and children."

De Heus also produces feed in Russia. Here too, the activities will continue in the same way. About 150 kilometers southeast of Moscow, De Heus has a premix and prestarter factory there together with a Russian party in a joint venture (Koudijs MKorma company† It produces 120.000 tons of animal feed annually, for pigs, cattle and poultry.
Here too, De Heus wants to continue to contribute to the Russian food chain, even now. The spokesperson does emphasize that De Heus fully supports the Western sanctions on Russia. Whether the animal feed giant will suspend investments in Russia for the foreseeable future, according to the spokesman, is not "im Frage" at the moment.
