With the Stimulation of Sustainable Energy Production and Climate Transition (SDE++), the government stimulates sustainable energy production and CO2-reduction. There is no less than €13 billion available this year.
One of the CO2-reducing techniques for which the subsidy is intended are solar panels. Farmers with a lot of roof surface are eligible for a subsidy that is guaranteed for fifteen years.
Earn money thanks to subsidy
The RVO calculates how much CO2emissions are avoided when using solar panels. Via the SDE++ subsidy, an entrepreneur with solar panels then receives a fixed amount per kilowatt hour (kWh) of solar energy generated for fifteen years. That means an interesting additional source of income for a farmer, outside the whims of the agricultural sector. "An extra leg under my company", such as agricultural entrepreneur Teus de Jong say. He has more than 3.000 solar panels on the roofs of his stables.
An entrepreneur with solar panels saves money because he generates his own electricity; receives compensation for the electricity he does not consume himself and sends to the grid; receives a subsidy for fifteen years per kWh generated. Terms & conditions
Applying for a grant is free. The entrepreneur is not committed to anything. Even if an entrepreneur is awarded a subsidy, he has two to three years, depending on the size, to install a solar panel installation. Only then will the entitlement to the subsidy expire.
In order to receive a subsidy, a large-scale consumer connection is required. This is a connection larger than 3 x 80 Ampere. Entrepreneurs with a small consumer connection can apply for a subsidy, but when installing the solar panels, the connection must be upgraded to a large consumer connection.
Apply for a subsidy
You can apply for a subsidy from June 28 to October 6, 2022. It does matter wanneer en How much subsidy you are applying for. The sooner the application is submitted and the lower the subsidy amount, the more chance the application has.
Energy Shift helps agricultural entrepreneurs and applies for the SDE++ subsidy for them free of charge. They take over the entire process for the farmer. Director Theo Hartgers: "We have now successfully applied for subsidies for hundreds of Dutch agricultural entrepreneurs."
