Profit and dividend down at AgruniekRijnvallei

14 April 2022 - Wouter Baan

Despite organic growth figures, the result at AgruniekRijnvallei for 2021 will be lower. The dividend has also fallen considerably. Despite this, director Arjen van Nuland speaks of a positive result in a challenging market.

Compound feed sales increased by 5% last year, while total feed sales increased by 3%. Concrete sales figures are not mentioned. The fact that AgruniekRijnvallei was able to achieve organic growth again last year is in a sense a great achievement given the shrinking animal numbers in the Netherlands. Turnover increased by more than 13% to €322 million. This increase is largely related to the increased raw material prices.

Below the line, the result takes a step back. Net profit decreased by €200.000 to €300.000. The dividend of €1,1 million (compared to €2,7 million in 2020) has already been deducted from this. In concrete terms, the dividend results in a supplementary payment of €2 per tonne of feed purchased.

According to director Arjen van Nuland, who took office last year, the market was once again characterized by great dynamism and many uncertainties. "We achieved an excellent result in this complex market and we grew against the market trend," says van Nuland.
