Transport company AB Texel has taken over the activities of Van Houte Transport in Zeeland. The company's equipment and 37 employees will be incorporated into two AB Texel business units: G. Bosman Transport and AB Texel's bottom unloader transport of potatoes.
Van Houte himself does not want to provide an explanation as to why the company is closing down. According to a statement from AB Texel, Van Houte was taken over because it could no longer guarantee the continuity of the company. Moreover, the activities in agricultural bulk transport fit in well with the strategy of AB Texel Group. This company still wants to grow in the agricultural transport market.
The AB Texel Group has approximately 1.950 employees and a fleet of approximately 1.250 trucks and 2.000 trailers. The company is active throughout Europe. The AB Texel Group is part of the Royal A-ware family business.
