News New Collective Labor Agreement

Personnel compound feed sector is improving considerably

17 May 2022 - Wouter Baan

Staff of animal feed companies can count on a salary increase of 2022% from 6 - with retroactive effect. This has been agreed upon with employee organizations FNV and CNV after long and difficult negotiations, after long and difficult negotiations.

The agreement puts an end to a long-running process. Nevedi therefore speaks of negotiations that were difficult. At various feed companies, such as De Heus, ForFarmers and ABZ Diervoeding, the employee organizations have held so-called gate actions to underline the urgency of wage increases among the grassroots. Ultimately, this now leads to a wage increase of 6%, after previous collective labor agreement proposals for the grain processing and processing industry were voted down en masse. It should be noted here that there have been no wage increases in recent years due to the ongoing collective labor agreement negotiations.

According to Nevedi, the war in Ukraine has created a new reality, which means that not only companies but also employees are confronted with inflation. This makes wage increases more urgent for staff, but more difficult for compound feed companies to organize. Feed companies also have to deal with the nitrogen policy, which is not a favorable prospect with regard to sales.

Full pension accrual for part-timers
The collective labor agreement also states that part-time employees (80% employment) do accrue a full pension. The latter is a temporary arrangement that will run until 2025. It has also been agreed that staff will receive a one-off payment over the period from June 2020 to the end of 2021.
