Boerenbusiness, the online platform for top entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, is presenting the Agribusiness Award for the fourth time this year. We invite companies from the Dutch agribusiness to register for the 13 edition from 2022 June 2022 with their innovation in product, service or business process.
Boerenbusiness wants to use the Agribusiness Award to highlight the innovative strength of Dutch agribusiness. Any company with an innovative product, service or business process can apply, including companies that have previously entered but did not win. There are, however, some important conditions. For example, the invention must provide a proven financial benefit to the agricultural entrepreneur and the entry must be relatively new, but must already have been launched on the market.
The previous winners of the Agribusiness Award are Lely in 2021, Limagrain Netherlands in 2020 and CowManager in 2019. Lely received the prize for the nitrogen-reducing Lely Sphere, Limagrain received the Award for the so-called mobile LG Lab, which measures the nutritional value of grass samples can be determined. CowManager received the Award in 2019 for the cow sensor, with which the dairy farmer can continuously monitor the health of the cow.
Professional jury chooses the winner
In addition to the Award itself, the winner of the Agribusiness Award will receive a media package worth €6.500 to spend at Boerenbusiness† ABN AMRO likes to emphasize the importance of innovation and is committed to the Award. The bank supports the winner in the follow-up process with knowledge, expertise and network in the field of innovation for an extra push towards the future.
The winner will be chosen by a jury of experts led by Aalt Dijkhuizen. According to Dijkhuizen, the sector is far too modest when it comes to drawing attention to innovations. "Smart, new developments are taking place every day in the Dutch agri and food sector. However, we are not the sector that immediately shows this," says Dijkhuizen. In his view, innovations in agribusiness too often remain out of the picture. "That is a pity, especially when the entire sector can benefit from it. This can have a commercial approach, but also contribute to the positive image of the sector.
