Robert van Ballegooijen will leave Royal A-ware as COO on 1 September and will become CEO of the Van Loon Group. Both companies have announced this. Van Ballegooijen has worked at Royal A-ware for over ten years.
Family business Van Loon has experienced strong growth in recent years and has bought up a whole series of companies, including the Limburg Verheij Vlees, Bonfait and Pro-messa. They are all part of MPR Invest, as the family's investment vehicle is called. It is expected that the producer of meat products, meat substitutes and meals will be further expanded under the leadership of Van Ballegooijen.
Van Loon is not up for sale with company data. In 2019, the company had a turnover of €620 million. In the meantime, quite a bit of turnover has already been added.
Transition A-ware
Robert van Ballegooij has supplied Royal A-ware in recent years
an important contribution to the transition from trading company and service provider to a leading international chain player in cheese, dairy, tapas and other food products. Van Ballegooijen was, among other things, responsible for retail production at A-ware, but also had a broader advisory and strategic role.
Before coming to Royal A-ware, Van Ballegooijen worked at Bakker Bart and Friesland Foods.
