Dutch Food Week opens this year on Friday afternoon 7 October with the new Boer Burger Markt on the Markt in the center of Den Bosch. Farmers, horticulturists, growers, fishermen and organizations enter into a dialogue with the public there to strengthen the connection between farmers and citizens. That same afternoon, Dutch Food Week will be formally opened with a meeting in the town hall. The week itself starts on Saturday 8 October and lasts until Saturday 15 October.

Dutch Food Week offers invited guests and passers-by a preview of Dutch Food Week 2022 on the Bossche market: numerous innovative, educational and fun (food) concepts are presented that are part of the packed program during the week. At the market you taste, discover and learn about healthy, sustainable and tasty food. There will be short interludes, cooking demonstrations and tastings organized by farmers, market gardeners, growers and fishermen and #DFW2022 partners.
Den Bosch as host city
The province of Noord-Brabant is the lead partner of Dutch Food Week 2022. The opening in Den Bosch fits in nicely with this. Mayor Jack Mikkers: "Here in 's-Hertogenbosch and the province of Noord-Brabant, we will enjoy all the goodies this region has to offer in and around October. At the same time, it is a great opportunity to think about our production chain in food supply. That has to be changed, adapted to today's times. And that is also possible. Especially here, in Northeast Brabant, where we are used to solving things together. and always look at how we can innovate. Each with his or her own specialism, knowledge and experience. We would like to show this and welcome Dutch Food Week 2022 with open arms."
The central opening with the Boer Burger Markt is new for Dutch Food Week. Chairman Dirk Duijzer is happy with the link with Den Bosch: "It is a city that breathes entrepreneurship and that represents the strength of our agricultural and horticultural sector. As far as I'm concerned it is a wonderful location to be able to make the link to all parts of our country, where in that week attention is drawn to the quality of our food."
Program Dutch Food Week 2022
In addition to the opening of Dutch Food Week in Den Bosch, numerous events will be organized throughout the country between 8 and 15 October. The aim of the week is to inform and introduce the public to what we know, can and do in the Netherlands regarding our food. The central theme is At the Table! and it is above all about health, sustainability and a good life. Dutch Food Week is an initiative of the Top Sector Agri & Food, the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and various companies and institutions.
