Strengthening the bond between farmers and citizens is now more important than ever. In that context, Dutch Food Week took the initiative to ask each province to decorate three people who have distinguished themselves over the past year in strengthening the bond between farmer and citizen, starting from the 2022 edition (8 to 15 October).
The award ceremony will take place on Friday 14 October. Each province can Valuation award to people in their province who have played a positive role in strengthening the bond between farmer and citizen from their role as farmer, horticulturist, grower, fisherman, advocate, producer, processor, retailer, administrator, etc.
A number of organisations/governments already have awards that relate to the aim of Dutch Food Week. The board, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, nevertheless decided to set up a national initiative. That has become the Value Ring.

Dutch Food Week wants to highlight the pride of what we can, know and do in the Netherlands in the field of food. Dutch Food Week 2022 opens on October 7 in Den Bosch with the Farmer Burger Market and conclude with the national Thank De Boer Day on Saturday October 15.
