The SDE++ subsidy (Stimulation of Sustainable Energy Production and Climate Transition) was created to stimulate sustainable energy production and CO2 reduction. This subsidy tap, which will amount to no less than €2022 billion in 13, will soon be turned off again.
There is only a limited period of time to apply for the grant. If you miss that moment, it is hoped that there will be another chance next year, whereby the rules and conditions may have been adjusted in the meantime. The subsidy tap was opened on June 28, 2022 and will close on October 6. In addition, the rule applies: 'first come, first served'. If you are interested, it is wise not to wait too long before applying for the subsidy.
Solar panels
One of the CO2-reducing techniques for which the subsidy is intended is solar panels. Agricultural entrepreneurs with sufficient roof surface are eligible for a guaranteed subsidy of fifteen years. For an agricultural entrepreneur, the subsidy therefore represents an interesting additional source of income, beyond the whims of the agricultural sector. "An extra leg under my company," such as an agricultural entrepreneur Teus de Jong say. He has more than 3.000 solar panels on the roofs of his stables.

You can see a number of them on the Energy Shift website calculation examples of costs and benefits. Applying for a grant is free. The entrepreneur is not committed to anything. Even if an entrepreneur is awarded a subsidy, depending on the size, he has two to three years to install a solar panel installation. Only then will the right to the subsidy expire.
Apply for a subsidy
Energy Shift helps agricultural entrepreneurs and applies for the SDE++ subsidy for them free of charge. They take the entire process off the farmer's hands. Director Theo Hartgers: "We have now successfully applied for subsidies for hundreds of Dutch agricultural entrepreneurs."
