Boerenbusiness presents the Agribusiness Award for the fourth time this year. The prize for companies with an innovative product or new service with a financial advantage for the farmer. One of last year's nominees was JOZ with the Gazoo. How is the development of the Gazoo going now, a year later?
The Gazoo is in full development. This innovation, also called the nitrogen cracker, is a circular solution that not only reduces nitrogen, but also methane. Methane is converted into CO2. The nitrogen cracker not only combats the nitrogen problem, but also provides more freedom for the farmer.
"JOZ took over Fullwood Milking on June 16. This means that we are now going to sell the complete picture", says Marjo Metz, marketing manager at JOZ and now also for FullwoodJOZ. Fullwood supplies both automatic and conventional milking systems. The head office is located in the United Kingdom where production also takes place. The systems are supplied to more than eighty countries. Fullwood also has a considerable market share in the Netherlands. "As far as the Gazoo is concerned, a lot of tests are being done. There are also several Gazoo's in the Netherlands and we are busy preparing everything to get on the RAV list."
The Gazoo is constantly being developed. "At the moment we have 196 applications worldwide, this certainly meets our expectations."
A stage
Participation in the Agribusiness Award has yielded a lot in the eyes of JOZ. "We were given the opportunity to stand on a stage and present our product. Of course it had already been launched, but this way we could pay extra attention to it. The fact that we didn't win was of course a real disappointment!" You participate to win and as JOZ we are convinced of our product that functions as a complete system without having to make adjustments to the barn.
Good questions by the jury
As part of the Award, the nominees pitch their innovation to the jury. "This pitch went very well. Arend Kuperus (CEO JOZ) and Peter ten Hoeve (product manager JOZ) were able to tell their story and show both theory and practice. We were very enthusiastic about that. The jury members were enthusiastic and presented good to ask!"
JOZ thought that the Gazoo should be allowed to step outside. "For us, the Agribusiness Award just came at the right time. Boerenbusiness has certainly lived up to expectations in this regard.”
