The CDA is abandoning the goal of reducing nitrogen emissions by 2030% by 50, as agreed in the coalition agreement. This is what party leader Wopke Hoekstra says in an interview with the AD. "The process needs to be restarted. 2030 is not sacred to us."
VVD members Prime Minister Mark Rutte and nitrogen minister Christianne van der Wal recently emphasized that the nitrogen targets cannot be tampered with. D66 is also still right behind the timetable. "The CDA does not want to pass on the problems to the next generations. But farmers must also be able to earn a fair living. Of course you can already achieve the nitrogen targets in many places before 2030, but if it takes longer elsewhere, we have to take that time. we are nowhere, many parties are not even at the table, and without the implementers you have nothing at all," Hoekstra told the AD.
The CDA thus shakes the coalition. In the coalition agreement, the government agreed to bring forward the objectives set out in the Nitrogen Reduction and Nature Improvement Act from 2035 to 2030. This was an advice from the Remkes Committee. This means that 74% of the nitrogen-sensitive nature areas are below the critical deposition value (KDW) that year.
Get KDW out of law as soon as possible
When asked by the AD whether the CDA gives in to the pressure of farmers, Hoekstra says: "On the contrary: in this way we are taking a positive step forward. It is essential for us to combine two things: nature restoration and a vital countryside with a fair sandwich for our farmers ... Now we work with a defective tool such as the critical deposition value. That is why the rapid arrival of ecological authority is essential, it can assess nature locally with people. Then you can also get that critical deposition value from the law as soon as possible."
The party leader of the CDA believes that he 'should have hit much harder on that nitrogen ticket'. "That has caused a lot of bad blood. We have mainly harvested discussion."

if they don't, they are no longer credible
It will not be so easy to form a new coalition. We will not be able to do without vvd, cda and cu. I just take a throw: cda 10, vvd 20, cu 5. Is 35. Suppose bbb15 and omtzigt 10, we are at 60. And the rest ????
