Transaction App already has more than 2.000 participants

23 September 2022

The number of participants in the Transaction App DCA shot over two thousand this week. It may sound like a cliché, but all your wildest dreams have been surpassed for the zest and reach of this free service. On Prinsjesdag, the two thousandth participant registered and that is Lianne Ravestijn, arable farmer in Numansdorp.

As is the case with most participants: your colleagues point out the existence and convenience of the Transaction App, you send an unsuspecting app to the well-known number (+31) 0320-269520 and the rest will take care of itself. Ravestijn, who has a partnership with her husband and son, however, received a phone call from us that she is a participant 2.000 of the Transaction app and had therefore won a dinner voucher. In any case, she takes the fellow farmer from whom she had received the tip about the Transaction App. "At the moment we are still full in the potato and onion harvest, but after that we will certainly make some time to go out for dinner with the four of us."

The Whatsapp Transaction App from DCA is a simple and accessible system in which agricultural entrepreneurs can quickly communicate and share what they have purchased or sold in products and services with other colleagues. Transactions come in every day, ranging from onions, interest, diesel, plant protection products, contract work, carrots, straw, manure, grain, planting material and much more. An overview of this (see below) will be sent to the participants every morning on WhatsApp:

An example of an overview that participants in the Transaction App receive daily.

In addition to 2.000 participants, more than 15 transactions were submitted in the past 1.000 weeks, divided over 17 categories. With 247 transactions, onions are by far the most popular, followed by fuel (235) and potatoes (130). After more than three months, the Transaction App turned out to be a bull's eye and to meet a great need. "We have looked every morning for the past three days," says Lianne Ravestijn. She will mainly use the app for the prices of potatoes and onions, but the gas and oil prices are also very appealing to her. Her son is now also connected to the Transaction App. "We have not yet registered a transaction ourselves, but we will certainly do so in the future."
