Van der Wal study: 700.000 hectares of nature added

7 December 2022 - Klaas van der Horst - 28 comments

In order to achieve Natura 2000 targets in the Netherlands, it is necessary to add a total of 702.000 hectares of nature in the Netherlands. This may be partly agricultural nature. The target for 2030 is to realize 30% of the total.

This is in one quickscan from Wageningen Economic Research and the Sovon agency from Nijmegen. The scan was made during a two-day joint work session in response to an urgent request from Minister for Nature and Nitrogen Christianne van der Wal.

The scan was submitted on September 30, but was not sent to the House of Representatives on November 25, when the development document for the National Program Rural Area (NPLG) was presented. At that time, the House was only informed about the required task until 2030. According to Van der Wal, this was done to prevent a fixation on hectares. She wanted to 'avoid the risk that the hectares a
take on a life of their own,” she writes. Moreover, publishing the total size could now hinder quick steps. "By choosing a target of 30%, the steps up to 2030 can be seen in the NPLG as no regret', writes the minister. These goals have already been achieved.

She mentions that the cabinet has reacted critically to objectives in previous documents, but does not distance itself from the quick scan.

Van der Wal was forced to send the study to the House after all because it had been hinted at in a column by Martin Sommer in de Volkskrant and questions arose from the House of Representatives.

According to a further response from the ministry, Van der Wal does not necessarily accept the outcome of the study. The minister: "Officially, Wageningen Environmental Research and SOVON Vogelonderzoek Nederland have been asked to make a quick scan of the required surface area of nature for the Natura 2000 objectives with a completely good conservation status. This analysis was for internal use and gives a first indication. for a step of 30% towards recovery. I have shared this official document, which had not yet been decided upon, at the request of the House. The figure that is now being extracted from it goes far beyond the goal of this cabinet. The cabinet It's a shame that this is causing unrest."

That is 30 percent of all agricultural land in Nerdeland, which means that 8% of the Dutch agricultural land must be converted into fake nature in 10 years. And then 5 million immigrants every 1 years?

An agreement has been made in the European Union that each Member State converts 10% of its agricultural land into nature. Rutte has signed this.
It is a shame that the Dutch press, including our own trade journals, do not pay attention to this. Can simply be found in black and white in the agreements that are recorded. Arno Wellens is one of the few journalists who has paid attention to this.

It should be clear that the government is pouring so much shit on agriculture that a lot of farmers are giving up. This is all planned active demotivation. Do not let them get to you. I think it is time for the LTO to investigate fundamental rights at the European Court of Human Rights. (ECtHR)

The solution for 702.000 hectares of extra nature 7 December 2022
The Netherlands has 415.000 ha of open water and 371.000 ha of inland water according to Statistics Netherlands.
As of 1-1-2023, introduce a sailing ban for ships and recreation, etc. and have these 786.000 hectares converted into nature.
@BBB can you bring this up in a motion?

700000 ha is simply more than there is total arable farming in the Netherlands

With 700K nature added, the NL agricultural block is completely wiped off the map.
Even if it would only be reduced by half, the total critical agricultural mass would have shrunk to such an extent that it is no longer self-evident that we can keep dairy factories or sugar processing operations going.

you are absolutely right, zero too much, just checked 140000 ha of land 99000 ha of water, this immediately says how incredibly ridiculous 700000 ha of nature actually is.
info 7 December 2022
Those 700.000 is no problem, first of all, reclaim the Wadden Sea between all the islands and the top of the Netherlands and start extracting gas, so that reclamation is also well paid economically, and if that is not enough, the Markermeer can also be reclaimed, so no one needs it to bother her with her stupid pranks

20% of the land area but 30% of the agricultural area because I don't think there will be any nature development on the runways of Schiphol or that they will flatten The Hague to develop nature there. In addition, other farms border on nature and burden it with nitrogen, so something needs to be found about that as well. And the supermarkets are full of food anyway, so no one is bothered by it.......

It's about time we put our heels in the sand. This expansion of nature must start and stop. If nature comes on our land WITHOUT benefiting us much, we as farmers should become civil disobedient and destroy it as quickly as it came.
Mr de Groot and his loved ones must be silenced, and not keep talking about THOSE farmers. Let's deal with THOSE greens before they turn our farms into state-owned enterprises, which is what THOSE green rascals want.

In the NPLG, a chapter (thought 5 or 6) has already been announced in the infamous map Van derWal that the connection between the Natura2000 must be realized and also the UN agreement 30 by 30 or 30% of the world is protected by land and sea / water nature reserve. Via Aerius and the 25 km zones, the attack has been launched on the 1000 m zone around Natura 2000. I did the math again: around 500 ha Natura 2000 900 ha and around .de Hoge Veluwe 12.000 ha. Sector drivers: watch your saek ! Van der Wal takes care of wolf territory and then lets them loose!

All of us from tax revenue. Christiane van der Wal will become the next director of Staatsbosbeheer and will be awarded a ribbon of the highest order.
