DDB: Wrong sequence of agricultural agreement consultations

19 January 2023 - Klaas van der Horst - 6 comments

The wrong order is used in the consultations about an agricultural agreement with Minister of Agriculture Piet Adema. First, a number of practical goals are set and finally, it is stated that a start must be made on restoring trust between agriculture and government. This is exactly the wrong order, according to DDB chairman Sieta van Keimpema.

She also sits at the table with much reserve, a 'side table'. They would be the driving force behind the talks on an agricultural agreement, she quotes Adema, but according to Van Keimpema, real negotiations are only taking place at the main table. She also doubts the feasibility of a number of market and price agreements that the minister wants to make. The question, according to Van Keimpema, is whether these agreements are not in conflict with a series of international agreements.

Be bound to
The chairman of the Dutch Dairymen Board (DDB) also states that the parties in the agricultural consultations must commit themselves to the goals set by the ministry. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality says it will not respond substantively to the consultations about an agreement. Sources around the ministry nuance this. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality has made its own position clear, other parties may have their own position.

Van Huet
The consultation is chaired by former Rabo director Carin van Huët. In addition to four agricultural organizations (LTO, Agractie, NAJK and Biohuis), the main table also includes the provinces (IPO), the Ministry of Agriculture, Landscapes NL plus the CBL and the FNLI (food industry). The side tables include the sector organisations.

If the Ministry of Agriculture has set the main goals.!
And everyone must adhere to that, then there is still only one conclusion left!

Immediately stop all consultations and get out of here, otherwise you will be judged later for having helped to kill Dutch Agriculture!

Hank, totally agree.
Sector/unions make your demands and put your vision on the table and ask for approval, then the LNV/N minister must confess and provide their point of view.
Where should I start with: KDW removed from the law and replaced by Nature recovery plan assessment as of July 1, PAS reports processed as of July 1, Aerius calculations under 10 mol/ha/year do not require a permit in a zone of 2 km from Natura 2000. Biological /sustainable agriculture in the 1 km zone is permitted, especially in combination with nature-inclusive agriculture. Here you have to score 100% positive and otherwise off the table. You know, expropriation won't work because there are enough people to come to your party. You shouldn't count on the EU, they are busy with their own pollution and bribery.
