During the corona crisis, entrepreneurs could receive financial support through the temporary Emergency Measure Bridging for Employment (NOW). This allowed employees to continue to be paid. Now is the time to submit the final applications for this. Within the agricultural sector, 903 employers have not yet done so, the UWV reports.
Employers have until Wednesday 22 February to report their final loss of turnover or to request a postponement for their third-party or accountant's statement (above €40.000 and €125.000 respectively). If they do not request the final calculation in time, this may lead to a recovery of the full advance.
There have been four application periods for the NOW between October 2020 and September 2021. Employers received an advance based on the expected loss of turnover. The final calculation determines which allowance employers are actually entitled to.
€73,5 million in advances
A total of 3.226 advances were granted to 1.856 employers in the agricultural sector over these four periods. UWV paid €73,5 million in advances over these four periods. Of the 1.856 employers who received one or more advances in these four periods, 953 have completed their request for the final calculation.
