The reorganization comes as no surprise. Like other companies in the meat sector, Vion is having a hard time, but so far no major reforms have been made. The new corporate structure is currently being discussed in the company's business councils. Vion plans to implement the changes in the fourth quarter of 2023. The aim of the new corporate structure is to increase efficiency. The new management layer oversees the purchase of livestock and activities at the slaughter site (slaughtering, deboning, processing, packaging). In addition to efficiency gains, the new company structure should shorten the lines with Vion's livestock farmers.

The new administration
To manage these changes, Vion has formed a new so-called executive committee. The team consists of eight members and is led by CEO Ronald Lotgerink. Tjarda Klimp will be the team's CFO. Philippe Thomas is responsible for Germany and Leon Cuypers takes charge of the Benelux. Simon Morris will be responsible for food service in all countries.

In addition, Mattijn Bak will be appointed as chief transformation officer and Binne Visser will join as chief human resources officer. Freek van den Eijnden will be responsible for the new Ingredients unit and will also build the new Science and Sustainability (CSSO) function. David De Camp, the current COO Beef, has decided not to join the new organization. He will remain COO Beef until the end of September 2023 and will support strategic projects in the coming period.
