Of the three known prime ministerial candidates from the parties taking part in the parliamentary elections on 22 November, Mona Keijzer is preferred by most voters. This is evident from a poll by Maurice de Hond last Saturday.
The BoerBurgerBeweging presented former CDA member Keijzer as its prime ministerial candidate on Friday. Until almost the last moment, the party had managed to keep this a secret. According to the poll, Keijzer is the favorite with 34%, Frans Timmermans of the left-wing combination PvdA/GroenLinks follows with 31% and Dilan Yeşilgöz is preferred by 27% of the voters. 10% of the respondents have no preference (yet). Mark Rutte scored much higher than other prime ministerial candidates in polls in the past. According to the poll, a relatively small proportion of the supporters of other parties now opt for the VVD candidate, except among voters of New Social Contract (NSC) and CDA.
Who is NSC's intended Prime Minister?
Former CDA member Pieter Omtzigt, who is participating in the elections with the new party NSC, has not yet announced whether he himself wants to become prime minister or who else should be. "For the coming months, what the voters think of NSC is most important. And what will happen if Omtzigt also announces his choice of prime minister," says De Hond.
