AB Texel Group takes over the bagged goods transport of Ecotrans Logiscs from Nijhof-Wassink. The transport company thus adds scale to its own activities in bagged goods transport.
CEO Dennis Wetenkamp is therefore satisfied with the purchase. "The total volume of bagged goods transport has no longer shrunk in recent years. The demand for, among other things, rearing feed, horse feed, premixes and also fertilizer remains. By creating sufficient scale, it remains an interesting market."
The takeover will take place on October 1. Then the fleet of 41 trucks, 50 curtainsider trailers and 50 cage monkeys plus the office building in Vaassen will be transferred to the new owner. Nijhoff-Wassink wants to further concentrate on bulk transport and warehousing for customers in the chemical, food and feed industries. Nijhof-Wassink has more than 750 truck combinations.
AB Texel Group is active throughout the agri-food sector and wants to offer complete logistics solutions for customers and fully relieve their worries, the company says. In this context, the company has also specialized strongly in bagged goods distribution. After the takeover, AB Transport Group will have more than 1.700 trucks and 2.650 trailers, of which 150 are curtainsider trailers.
Part of the agreement is also that Volvo and Renault Truck dealership Nijwa, a subsidiary of Nijhof-Wassink Group, will become the delivering dealer of Volvo and Renault trucks and parts for AB Texel.
