The Belgian dairy cooperative LDA reduces the advance price for the month of August by approximately 2,7%. It is the third gradual reduction in a row since May.
The cooperative has set the new milk price at a price of €36,00 per 100 liters at legal Belgian contents. At levels of 4,3 grams of fat and 3,5 grams of protein per kilo, the real price is €38,44 per 100 liters, according to the Belgian Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness. This is the price for an annual supply of 1,3 million liters.
With the new advance price, LDA will exceed Arla's milk price for August. It was even higher in July, but Arla has made a larger reduction.
LDA still remains below the average of the five Belgian processors in the comparator Boerenbusiness Hatch. For August, the average is €40,02 per 100 liters. That is 81 cents lower than the July average.
