Accounting and consultancy firms Alfa Accountants en Adviseurs and ABAB, both of which have their roots in the agricultural sector, want to merge. According to the organizations, the services and customer portfolios fit well together and the office locations are complementary.
According to the organizations, the merger can take place in the first half of 2024, but they are still awaiting advice and approval must also be obtained from, among others, the ACM and AFM.
One of the reasons for the firms to merge is that they want to be and remain an independent, stable accounting and consultancy organization, they write in a press release. They are also both 'impact-driven and not primarily profit-driven'. Furthermore, there are economies of scale from a merger.
Employee owned
The offices want an ownership structure where the company is 'fully owned by the employees'. They consider this 'a good alternative to a partnership structure or private equity'. Alfa has more than 35 branches and 1.200 employees and ABAB has seven hundred spread over fifteen branches.
