New dairy platform with DCA Market Intelligence

24 December 2023 - Eric de Lijster

DCA, provider of Boerenbusiness.nl and Foodbusiness.nl, introduces a new online dairy platform under the name DCA Market Intelligence. In this tool, buyers, sellers, traders, companies and all other interested parties in the national and international dairy chain can easily access a large amount of data from the dairy market. The tool gives them direct insight into the 25 DCA dairy quotations that are published weekly. DCA Market Intelligence replaces DCA-Markets as the brand name in the market.

DCA has announced this. "With the new dairy tool, we want to offer professionals in the dairy chain even better insights into the dairy market based on our quotations and data," explains Tim Vrolijk, managing director at DCA. Users can access this via a personal dashboard DCA Market Intelligence select the prices and data they need for their daily business: from trade prices and milk production to import and export data. They also receive a weekly overview with short analyzes of market developments based on the DCA dairy quotations.

“We also present a milk valorization tool that helps users make informed decisions about the weekly orders they receive,” Vrolijk continues. "The prices of products such as powder and butter on the futures market are also visible live on the dairy tool." DCA Market Intelligence will be further expanded in 2024 with more market information and useful services for participants in the dairy chain, Vrolijk emphasizes. "Our ambition is to be the partner in data and market information for the national and international dairy business."

Number of dairy listings expanded significantly
The 25 dairy quotes that the company DCA-Markets compiles as a Price Reporting Agency (PRA) form the heart of the tool. DCA has significantly expanded the number of listings in recent months. Nine listings were added during this period, including full-fat milk powder (fat-filled), Emmentaler, natural cheese and butter oil (AMF). DCA has fifteen years of experience in compiling dairy quotations. In 2007, spot quotations for raw milk started in the Netherlands, Northern Germany and Southern Germany. Nowadays, almost the entire range of dairy products and manufactured products is valued through a quotation, including whole milk powder, skimmed milk powder, cream, butter and the foil cheeses Gouda and Edam.

All 25 dairy quotes and the Specifications can be found on DCA Market Intelligence and are announced to customers and relations every Thursday at 16:00 PM. The specifications have been determined in collaboration with the sector and are accessible to everyone. The methodology is in line with the rules laid down for this by the European Commission. "This makes our approach unique," Vrolijk responds. "The new listings are in line with our aim to make milk valorization in the dairy chain as transparent as possible. We try to take up every listing that can contribute to this."
