Infant food manufacturer Ausnutria is standing firm in the dispute with the unions over the company's social plan, which is in the middle of a reorganization round. The core of the dispute is the severance payment per year worked.
Ausnutria offers 0,6 monthly income per year of service, the unions want to agree on at least a monthly income per year of service for the employees to be made redundant.
As of November 1, it has been announced that sixty jobs will be eliminated at the Leeuwarden branch, but the reorganization will not be limited to that branch. Employees at the locations in Ommen, Kampen, Zwolle and Heerenveen will probably also feel the consequences. Ausnutria is not making any announcements about this yet.
Strategic Plan
Ausnutria is struggling with a disappointing market for infant nutrition, especially in China. The company hopes to sell more product in other markets, but there will be no immediate relief. The company needs to limit costs and is working on a strategic plan for the next five years. In the overall picture of the company, an amount has also been reserved for severance payments. However, in the opinion of the trade unions, this is too low.
Unless the company makes further concessions, actions are expected later this week, the unions indicate.
