The cooperatives CZAV and CAV De Wieringermeer are merging. The members of CAV and the members council of CZAV agreed to this yesterday (Monday, May 13). The merged cooperative will continue under the name FarmPlus.
CZAV and CAV have been investigating the possibilities of a merger since mid-October. By joining forces, the new cooperative wants to "fulfill a leading role in terms of advice and supply, and be active as a powerful chain partner in the collection and marketing of agricultural products," the cooperative writes. The presentation of the new name and appearance will take place in the course of 2024.
The new cooperative will become a nationally operating cooperative that farmers from all over the Netherlands can become members of. CAV's 100% participations (namely Agrotheek, Heyboer, Agriant and other companies in which FarmPlus participates or owns) will continue to exist in their current form in the short or longer term. Only the 100% participations in the Netherlands may be integrated to the extent that this is relevant. "The participations Luc Pauwels NV and Casibeans in Belgium will not form part of the integration plan to be developed for the coming years," CZAV writes to the members.
