The ink on the merger between ABZ and De Valk Wekerom has barely dried, and the next collaboration is already announced. From next week, ABZ Diervoeding and Vitelia will officially enter into a strategic partnership that is most likely a prelude to a merger.
"It procedure We really liked De Valk Wekerom and we also want to work with Vitelia in the coming months," says Marcel Roordink, director of ABZ Diervoeding, when asked. "We will then investigate whether this will lead to a merger. We are not in a hurry to do this, but this is ultimately the approach."
Vitelia is mainly active in North Limburg and East Brabant, an area where ABZ Diervoeding traditionally has no roots and is not yet very active. Both cooperatives jointly produce more than 1,3 million tons of compound feed. ABZ Diervoeding has clearly distanced itself from the medium-sized feed companies in our country in recent years due to the many mergers and forms of collaboration.
