After almost twenty years, Henk Flipsen is stepping down as director of Nevedi, the trade association for the animal feed sector. He believes the time is ripe for a successor with fresh ideas amid what he calls complex and challenging market conditions. Flipsen is leaving on 1 July. A successor has not yet been announced.
Flipsen is leaving during a turbulent period, partly due to internal discussions among the members. For example, ForFarmers, the largest member in terms of size, announced last year that it would cancel its membership. Agrifirm initially did the same, but later decided to remain a member. Flipsen recently said in an interview with Boerenbusiness still he hopes that ForFarmers is coming back on this decision.
'With melancholy'
Flipsen responds when asked and speaks of a joint decision that was made together with the board of Nevedi. "At a certain point I started thinking and asked myself the question: Does this function still suit me? That basically answers the question. I make this decision with nostalgia, that is true. Nevedi has become a part of my heart after all these years."
In the meantime, the board has determined a new course that was established by the members' meeting. With that, Flipsen believes it is time for a successor with a fresh perspective to lead Nevedi. He will complete his tasks until July 1. In the second half of 2025, Flipsen will remain active in the background as a strategic advisor.
