ForFarmers turns around and returns to Nevedi
ForFarmers has rejoined the trade association Nevedi, the company confirmed when asked. This decision follows a period of intensive discussions within the organisation about the course and future of the Dutch animal feed sector. When the termination was announced last year, it was still considered an irreversible decision.
"Concerns and wishes of members have been discussed within Nevedi in recent times. These discussions included how Nevedi can work towards a more efficient and effective organisation that better meets the needs of its members," the ForFarmers spokesperson said.
Decision revised
Based on these discussions, Nevedi has decided to revise the policy and adjust the cost structure. ForFarmers calls these steps convincing enough to resume membership and will remain active in the organisation's management.
With the decision to return, ForFarmers is making quite a turn. When the cancellation in October, the listed company still spoke of a final decision, which incidentally raised the necessary questions among the supporters of cooperative FromFarmers (majority shareholder of ForFarmers) about the usefulness and necessity of this.
Flipsen leaves
What is noteworthy in this matter is that Nevedi director Henk Flipsen to know today has indicated that he will resign from his position effective July 1. He spoke at the end of last month in a interview with Boerenbusiness the hope that ForFarmers would return.
Initially, Agrifirm had also cancelled its membership, but at the end of last year this cooperative announced that it would remain a member of the trade association.
