The Agribusiness Award is a prestigious award. Its initiators, ABN AMRO and DCA Market Intelligence, aim to stimulate and highlight innovations in the agri-food sector. These are innovations, both large and small, that advance the sector and offer demonstrable added value for farmers and growers. In 2025, Royal Koopmans won with its Nedertarwe concept, which stands for bread made from sustainably grown wheat from the Netherlands.
Smart and sustainable innovation
The Agribusiness Award will be presented for the seventh time in 2026. Companies can now register their innovative product, service, or supply chain concept. The innovation must also have significant market potential and therefore not be a one-size-fits-all solution for one or a few farmers or growers.
Expert jury
A four-person jury will assess all entries. This year, the jury will be chaired by new Laurens Sloot, Professor of Entrepreneurship in Retail at the University of Groningen. He succeeds Aalt Dijkhuizen, who will remain closely involved as a jury member. In addition, Jan Opschoor, Director of Sustainability and Business Development at Van Iperen, will join the jury, succeeding Jan Omvlee (Rijk Zwaan). Pierre Berntsen, Director of Agricultural Businesses at ABN AMRO, will be the fourth jury member.
Amount of money and media package
The jury will select three nominees for the 2026 Agribusiness Award from all submissions. These three companies will be invited to the pitch day to present their innovation to the jury. All three companies will be given the stage during the ABN AMRO Open in Ahoy on February 10, 2026. The winner will be announced there.
