A-ware will introduce an annual bonus starting in 2026, with the first payment scheduled for April 2027. The bonus is necessary to respond effectively to the increasingly volatile dairy market, according to the company. The more than 1.700 dairy farmers in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany will be informed about this during the current autumn meetings.
COO Klaas de Jong explains: "We're dealing with a very volatile market, which makes it more difficult to predict its development. With an annual bonus, we have more time to respond than with just a monthly fee. The bonus will be introduced in 2026 and can vary annually. The dairy farmers we work with will receive the first payment in the spring of 2027."
Livestock Manager Koen Veldman explains: "We're a family business that values long-term partnerships, and that's what we strive for. The introduction of the annual bonus is ultimately good for our dairy farmers and for us as an organization." De Jong adds: "In this extremely volatile market, we need to be able to create flexibility in the milk price throughout the year. Our goal remains to get the most bang for our buck. The milk price needs to be good throughout the year, not just monthly. We also have to deal with highly volatile dollar exchange rates, import duties, and a lot of unrest in the world. This annual bonus creates stability, and that's good for everyone."
