Dairy company A-ware has acquired a nearly brand-new, yet largely unused, Plus distribution center near Deventer. The new tenant will be able to use the approximately 12-hectare site starting in the new year.
A-ware itself confirmed the news. The company will begin using the distribution center in Deventer on January 1, 2026. "The acquisition of the distribution center fits in with Royal A-ware's growth strategy," it said.
Its central location offers ample future prospects and growth opportunities. Development of the site will begin on January 1st, and the zoning plan will be further developed. It is not yet known how many and which vacancies will arise. Royal A-ware will not be taking on any employees from PLUS.
We do not comment on the duration of the lease agreement."
The distribution center is conveniently located near major highways and meets the latest sustainability requirements. It also has large cooling zones for fresh produce.
Plus supermarkets moved into the center at the beginning of this year, but a merger with Coop changed their minds and the center was declared redundant in May. From then on, the building's owners had to find a new tenant. Initially, it seemed that the Ministry of Defence would be the new tenant, but then A-ware came calling.
